European e-Skills Week
Estonian Information Technology College participates in e-Skills Week campaign run by the DigitalEurope and European Schoolnet from 26 to 30 March 2012 as a key partner of Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
The activities of the campaign are carried out from January to May 2012 in 30 European countries and it will summit with European e-Skills Week from 26 March to 30 March 2012. At the same time there will be an international intensive learning week in IT College where the students can apply their knowledge obtained at school for solving actual problem-situations. The main message delivered to the young people during the campaign is an existence of ICT everywhere in the present world and that the related skills are necessary for being competitive in the labour market.
During the campaign, the IT College students participate in the school visits where the ICT areas of specializations are introduced. Video competition “Everything is IT” is organized and IT night takes place on 30 March. The universities and students are all welcome to participate in implementing the campaign activities or to connect their own activities with the e-Skills Week 2012 campaign.
The European e-Skills Week 2012 organised for the second time introduces to the young people and professionals as well as small and medium size enterprises the possibilities the IT related works provide. In the course of the first European e-Skills Week in March 2010, hundreds of events and activities took place and it helped to raise the awareness of importance of e-skills from employment point of view and reached 65 million people in 35 countries and involved 284 interest groups, including 42 on pan-European level.
