IT College is the first higher educational institution in Estonia who successfully passed an institutional accreditation and quality assessment of curricula

Estonian Information Technology College passed successfully the quality assessment of curriculum group for computer science and information technology. Currently IT College is the only higher educational institution in Estonia who has successfully passed the institutional accreditation and quality assessment of all curricula, receiving a positive assessment of international assessment experts in both assessment processes.

Quality Assessment Council of Estonian Higher Education Quality Agency (EKKA) decided to confirm the assessment report of IT College on 5 February 2014 and perform the next quality assessment of IT College curricula in 7 years. Quality of IT College curricula was acknowledged as conforming. Curriculum group quality assessment is an external assessment which involves assessment of conformance of curricula and related studies and educational development to legislation, national and international standards and development trends with an aim to give recommendations for improvement of study quality.

“Such positive assessment creates good basis for even faster progress and gives IT College a very favorable position in higher educational landscape in Estonia,” stated the Rector of the IT College, Tiit Roosmaa, and he added that several very good partners among universities as well as companies stand behind this outcome. “I am very happy to thank our partners as well as the whole personnel of IT College for the great contribution to provision of internationally recognized IT area higher education for our students,” said Rector Tiit Roosmaa.

“It is positive to recognize that the external experts acknowledged IT College’s contemporary study conditions, practical trend of curricula, orientation to labour market demands and close relations with employers,” highlighted the quality manager Merle Varendi of IT College.
