Estonian IT College is opening a new curriculum – Cyber Security Engineering

The Estonian Information Technology College will open a new curriculum, Cyber Security Engineering, in autumn 2015. This curriculum is carried out in English.

This new curricula, Cyber Security Engineering, is designed to provide broad-based higher education in the area of cyber security engineering by integrating the software development and information system administration. The graduates of this curricula will able to design, develop, implement and manage independently secure IT systems.

„The new curriculum will connect the DevOps way of thinking and cyber security topics, providing challenges also to people with ICT area experience,“ said Margus Ernits, Lecturer of the IT College and manager of the Cyber Security Engineering curriculum. Margus Ernits added that the cyber security specialist with practical skills is able to operate in the area of system development as well as administration and this new curriculum creates pre-requisites for it.

“The cyber world becomes more and more important part in our life but up to now there was no such curriculum on the professional higher education and Bachelor Degree studies level,” said Tiit Roosmaa, the Rector of the IT College. “We have created a friendly, modern and innovative learning environment in the IT College, and we expect also interested people from abroad to this new curriculum in English.
