Mark Torr, a valued expert on Internet of Things and Big Data, will be delivering a public lecture at IT College

Mark TorrOn 6th of September 2016 at 12 pm, Mark Torr a valued expert and opinion leader on IoT and Big Data, will be delivering a public lecture at the IT College. The lecture will be moderated by Toomas Mõttus, CEO of Primend.

Mark is currently responsible for Advanced Analytics and IoT for Microsoft across the CEE region. Mark has over 20 years of experience working in the fields of Data Management, Analytics and Reporting with the majority of that spent in various senior roles at SAS. He is an active blogger on the topic (www.marktorr.com) and was recently named at #85 of the top 100 Big Data Experts to follow on Twitter and at #62 of the top 100 IoT Experts to follow on Twitter.

IoT, Big Data and Advanced Analytics are all fast moving targets and can mean different things to different people. Some people are afraid of risks associated with IoT and machine intelligence while others are thrilled by new opportunities. The combination of new data sources and new analytics capabilities will certainly have a profound impact on how people perceive and interact with technology. Mark will explain his vision for IoT and analytics landscape beyond 2020 and discuss practical applications that are already available. Mark is known for his compelling lectures that offer inspiration as well as practical knowledge.

Mark Torr is visiting Estonia in order to deliver a keynote presentation at a business conference hosted by Microsoft Partner of the Year, Primend, and dedicated to business analytics. Conference „Analüütikaga edukaks!“ is held on 7 of September. „ We are very excited that we have the oppoirtunity to share Mark’s valuable insights not only with our conference listeners but with the wider public in the form of public lecture at IT College“ said Primend’s CEO Toomas Mõttus.

The public lecture will be held in English and will be taking place in IT College building in Mustamäe, Raja 4C, room 314.
